Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka, from Minsk (the capital of Belarus), is the daughter of Sergey. Her father Sergey (d. 2019.) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. Her career has seen her be the winner of 12 WTA singles championships, which includes the Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. Doubles is another sport where she shines. It was the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both played by Elise Mertens. Alongside the Belgian tennis superstar, she won WTA 1000s in Indian Wells in 2019 and Miami. This feat was made possible by four couples in singles for women. On 23 August 2021 she was ranked second in the singles world ranking her top ranking again in January 2023. She climbed to the top of the doubles ranking the following year, after taking the title at Melbourne. She became the only Belarusian tennis player to succeed in her field. She was trained by an ex- Russian tennis champion Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the season in 2019 and partly at the beginning of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann from August to September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her from the year 2020. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her heroes.
